ACID
Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation, Durability, properties of a database system that assure reliable Transaction processing: atomicity implies all or nothing, see Atomic Transaction, consistency refers to integrity constraints on database content, isolation implies hiding partially processed transactions, and durability implies reliability and the ability to recover from certain types of failures without loosing or duplicating transactions.
