Power over Ethernet

Power over Ethernet
technology that allows devices to receive 48 volt DC electrical power via Ethernet cables in accordance with standard IEEE 802.3af; this has the advantage of saving on installation effort and complexity by only requiring one low voltage cable to the device, saving energy by eliminating some power supplies, and can be used to deliver power with Uninterruptible Power Supply backup.
