Smart Card

Smart Card
a card or other device that contains a microprocessor and software to store information, carry out local processing on the data stored, and perform complex calculations in support of secure identification and a variety of other applications. Cards may be contact cards that must touch a card reader or contactless cards that use radio frequency signaling and may be read at a distance.
